Caesars Entertainment has created more than 837 millionaires since 1987; with those player winnings fast approaching the $2 billion mark, the company has announced Millionaire Maker powered by Caesars Rewards, a celebration of these guests’ winnings and a promotion aimed at making even more millionaires.

The DOJ’s new Wire Act opinion has created a cloud of ambiguity in the US gambling industry. It reverses a previous 2011 opinion that limited the scope of the Wire Act to sports betting only. But, under the new interpretation, the 1961 federal law extends to all forms of online gambling. According to gaming experts, the new opinion could rip to shreds not only the online gambling businesses in certain states, but also state lotteries and horse racing. Read more on my blog page.
November 24, 2018. Pennsylvania Opens for Sports Betting: Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville began taking sports bets last week. Commercial Gambling Win Up: Gambling revenue from an estimated 460 commercial casinos in the U.S. set a record of $40.3 billion in 2017, an increase of 3.4%. The top market was Las Vegas with $6.4 billion, followed by Atlantic City with $2.4 billion, and Chicagoland with $2.0 billion.
New Jersey could overtake Nevada in sports betting revenue by 2021 according to a gaming research firm. It was NJ that challenged the ban that led to the Supreme Court overturning it. Read more on my blog page.
